Granular Permissions beta program
What's this beta test for?
We're working on significant upgrades to how permissions work throughout Rewst. Today, roles are broad. If a user can reach an area of the platform, they can generally do everything in it. These improvements are designed to let you define precisely what each role can see and do, so you can safely give more people access to more of Rewst without giving them the keys to everything.
We are in the beta testing phase, which means we need your help to make sure these new controls hold up against the way your team actually works. Your role structure, your technician tiers, and your client organizations. We enable the beta for your organization directly, and if it isn't working out for you, we can turn it back off. When we enable the beta, your existing roles are migrated automatically into equivalent granular permission roles, so nobody loses access on day one and documentation will be available explaining exactly what changed.
Features you'll be testing include:
-
Section-level permission controls: every section of the application has its own granular permissions, so you can grant a role view-only access to one area, full edit access to another, and no access at all to a third.
-
Resource-level permissions for Forms: grant roles access to specific individual forms rather than all forms, so a technician only sees the forms that belong to their work.
-
Blocked inheritance into sub-organizations: stop a role's inherited access at the boundary you choose, so a team that manages one set of client organizations doesn't inherit access to the rest.
We are limiting total beta participants to a number that we can comfortably support and work through feedback with, so not everyone who volunteers will get in. If your MSP is selected, we'll reach out to follow up with additional details.
